Let the current rules define your submission
Before choosing evidence, read the scoring guidance for the specialty and recruitment year. Do not assume that an achievement scores because it scored previously. Check eligible dates, documentary requirements, definitions and any rules about counting the same work more than once.
Create an evidence index
Give each claim a short label and link it to the required proof. An effective document allows a reviewer to identify what happened, when, your role and who verified it. Keep the original files and submit only what the guidance permits.
- Reconcile logbook summaries and your recorded role.
- Show your contribution to collaborative research or improvement work.
- Use teaching feedback and evidence of delivery where requested.
- Check signatures, dates and names on supporting letters.
Audit your own application
Ask someone unfamiliar with the project to read the evidence. Can they verify the claim without an explanation from you? Correct inconsistencies and remove unsupported statements. A concise, accurate application is easier to defend at interview. Keep confidential clinical material out of uploads unless the approved process specifically requires it and appropriate safeguards are in place.
PUT IT INTO PRACTICE
