How we prepare our training guides

Clear, practical guidance to help you understand your options and find the official requirements.

Who publishes this guidance?

Coursemia publishes these guides as educational overviews for doctors exploring UK training and examinations. They are published under the Coursemia name. A source-check date records when the linked guidance was consulted; it does not imply endorsement or a separate clinical peer review.

Official sources come first

We link to the relevant NHS recruitment teams, UK Foundation Programme, GMC, surgical training bodies and examining colleges. Recruitment dates, eligibility and assessment requirements can change. Check the guidance for your specialty, application year and UK nation before acting.

Practical suggestions and worked examples

Our study plans, evidence trackers and preparation examples are suggestions. They do not replace a person specification, examination regulation, curriculum or supervisor’s assessment. Worked examples are illustrative and do not describe a real candidate or guarantee a result.

Course recommendations

Coursemia sells and hosts educational courses. Recommendations for our MRCS and ST3 courses are identified within the guides and link to course information or our enquiry team. Buying a course is optional and does not confer eligibility, selection points or an examination pass.

Updates and corrections

Each guide displays its source-check date. When a guide is revised, its update date is shown separately. If you notice an outdated requirement, unclear passage or incorrect link, send a correction through our support form with the guide URL and the relevant official source. We welcome specific corrections and reader questions.
