Use the examining college’s current information
Before booking, check the official MRCS pages and the college accepting your application. Confirm the sitting, venue or delivery arrangements, application deadline, eligibility, fee and cancellation policy. Dates and charges vary and may change; a revision provider’s timetable should not be your final authority.
Check your documents early
Use the candidate guidance to confirm qualification evidence, identity requirements and any verification process. Ensure names are consistent with your identification, or obtain the required evidence of a name change. Check the current regulations on attempts, time limits and reasonable adjustments before committing to a plan.
Plan the whole examination journey
Build in the likely result date when scheduling the next examination or training application. Arrange leave with your employer and consider travel, accommodation and recovery after on-call work. Keep application receipts and correspondence together. A second sitting should be a planned contingency, not an assumption that a result will arrive before a recruitment deadline.
- Record the application closing time and time zone.
- Check the published result-release arrangements.
- Budget for the full trip as well as the exam fee.
- Re-read the joining instructions shortly before attending.
